Industry expertise and best-of-breed features drove decision
Livonia, Michigan – August 23, 2011 – WorkForce Software, the leading provider of workforce management solutions for organizations with complex labor policies and stringent compliance demands, announces that the Claremont University Consortium has selected its EmpCenter® workforce management solution.
The Claremont University Consortium (CUC) is a collaborative effort shared by several neighboring undergraduate colleges and graduate institutions to organize around common facilities, and share the administration and cost of certain employee and student services. Consistent with this mission, the consortium initiated a search for a system to replace the HR, payroll, and workforce management applications and offer higher levels of automation for greater control and a lower cost of ownership. CUC carefully examined the workforce management capabilities of HR and payroll software vendors and determined that these systems lacked essential functionality for higher education needs.
The consortium decided to select a best-of-breed workforce management solution that could seamlessly interface with Ultimate Software HR and payroll and automate all aspects of time and attendance. EmpCenter was the clear choice.
“Our project represents thousands of employees at five institutions, including four premier liberal arts colleges, and with that scope comes a lot of complexity,” noted Ken Pifer, VP/Treasurer & Director of Financial Services at CUC. “EmpCenter was the only solution that was capable of automating 100% of our time and labor requirements. That includes requirements that are unique to higher education such as the ability to track multiple job assignments. This will make our payroll processing more efficient and deliver significant savings to our members. EmpCenter’s user interface is easy to learn and use. Because it doesn’t use Flash or Flex technology, it can be accessed on PCs, Macs, and tablets such as the iPad, a key consideration in our environment where students use all sorts of devices.”
“Claremont University Consortium’s model is an innovative way for independent schools to keep administrative costs down through scalable technology,” added Kevin Choksi, WorkForce Software’s co-founder and CEO. “EmpCenter maximizes the consortium model’s effectiveness by offering full automation of all member time and attendance requirements, including the most complex and unique ones, entirely through configuration.”
