New Technology Introductions and Executive Presentation Sessions Scheduled During National Payroll Exhibition

Livonia, Michigan and National Harbor, Maryland – May 26, 2010 – WorkForce Software, the leading provider of workforce management solutions for organizations with complex labor policies and compliance concerns, announces the release of EmpCenter® 7.9 – the latest iteration of WorkForce Software’s workforce management platform – at the American Payroll Associations (APA) 2010 Congress, May 26 – 28.

EmpCenter is a web-based application that enables organizations to capture and collect time and activity data, as well as automate 100% of all corporate, state, local, and national pay rules for all employees throughout the enterprise. Because this is accomplished solely through configuration, organizations can easily upgrade, expand or add functionality to accommodate both regulatory changes and evolving workforce management needs.

With the introduction of EmpCenter 7.9, WorkForce Software adds functionality designed to simplify and streamline the day-to-day activities of Human Resource and payroll professionals, as well as individual managers, including:

  • Enhanced line item approval
Delivering the ability for managers to approve individual activities within an employee’s timesheet, this dramatically simplifies the approval process for individuals who perform tasks for multiple departments or managers within a given day
  • Early period closing within multiple assignments
Supporting the early closure of pay periods for events such as spring break, holiday weeks and other similar occasions, this functionality is particularly well-suited for educational institutions, municipalities and other organizations where individuals perform tasks for departments which may have differing time-off schedules (e.g. a teacher who also coaches a sport team)
  • Off-cycle payroll support
Enabling payroll managers to initiate an off-cycle payroll event directly within EmpCenter, simplifying the process of compensating employees for hours worked or unused vacation time in the event of termination, departure from the company, application of retroactive or corrective activities, and other similar activities

A Client-Centric Approach
The latest round of enhancements reflects WorkForce Software’s client-centric approach to solution development. In addition to our world-class client support services, WorkForce Software also presents clients with a full calendar of meetings, discussions and conferences designed to exchange information, preview new functionality and capture input on current and emerging business trends.

“We worked together with our client advisory board to help define the new functionality built-in to EmpCenter 7.9,” said Howard Tarnoff, WorkForce Software’s Senior Vice President. “Client input, combined with the experience and expertise of our product development team, enables us to continually enhance our offerings and help organizations to simplify and streamline their workforce management processes, as well as ensure compliance and enable strategic HR.”

In addition to EmpCenter 7.9, WorkForce Software will also demonstrate EmpCenter To Go – a Smartphone-based application that empowers organizations to simplify the capture of time and activity data from field-based or remote employees. EmpCenter To Go also enables employees to view and interact with schedules, while enabling managers to view and approve requests, process exceptions and more without being tethered to their desks.
