EmpCenter is a web-based application that enables organizations to capture and collect time and activity data, as well as automate 100% of all corporate, state, local, and national pay rules for all employees throughout the enterprise. Because this is accomplished solely through configuration, organizations can easily upgrade, expand or add functionality to accommodate both regulatory changes and evolving workforce management needs.
With the introduction of EmpCenter 7.9, WorkForce Software adds functionality designed to simplify and streamline the day-to-day activities of Human Resource and payroll professionals, as well as individual managers, including:
- Enhanced line item approval
Delivering the ability for managers to approve individual activities within an employee’s timesheet, this dramatically simplifies the approval process for individuals who perform tasks for multiple departments or managers within a given day
- Early period closing within multiple assignments
Supporting the early closure of pay periods for events such as spring break, holiday weeks and other similar occasions, this functionality is particularly well-suited for educational institutions, municipalities and other organizations where individuals perform tasks for departments which may have differing time-off schedules (e.g. a teacher who also coaches a sport team)
- Off-cycle payroll support
Enabling payroll managers to initiate an off-cycle payroll event directly within EmpCenter, simplifying the process of compensating employees for hours worked or unused vacation time in the event of termination, departure from the company, application of retroactive or corrective activities, and other similar activities

The latest round of enhancements reflects WorkForce Software’s client-centric approach to solution development.
