As the global economy struggles to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, companies are fighting their own battle as they adapt to a hybrid work model that seems here to stay.

Coronavirus conditions have imposed new labor rules on the public and private sectors, and even if administrations are ready for a return to normalcy, employees may have a different view.

Workplaces should be designed to facilitate collaborations as well as be significantly better than working from home, according to experts. Offices must prioritize wellness, technology and sustainability for employees.

Steve Tonks, Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at WorkForce Software, whose products include communication tools, says allowing employees flexibility is key.

“Using third party sites [for work] could help companies reduce employee downtime because they offer additional flexibility,” Tonks says.

Additionally, third party sites offer employees access to amenities inside and out, such as cafes, bars and restaurants as well as hotels.
