Five Tips to Improve Employee Morale

Positive employee morale is important for any organization, regardless of the industry or company size. When employee morale is low, it spreads quickly like a virus. When morale is mediocre, employee performance matches that. A high-productive and thriving business typically has employees who are happy with their jobs, get along with co-workers, and feel like what they do makes a difference to the company. It can be easy to create a positive environment, but you need to pay attention to your team.

CUTOMER OVERVIEW

The Phoenix Companies
Customer Since: 2006
Industry: Insurance

Challenge: Prior to selecting WorkForce Software’s EmpCenter® Online solution, The Phoenix Companies went through a long, manual, paper-based process to collect time and track attendance. Prior to 2006, The Phoenix Company had anywhere from 60 to 80 administrative people collecting paper timesheets from hundreds of employees and then keying that data into a spreadsheet. In addition to that, the company manually calculated complex accrual rules. The manual processing created a number of issues, including time recording errors, missing time-off requests, as well as a high number of unapproved timesheets so employees could be paid for time not worked. Often times the handwritten timesheets were difficult to read and were keyed incorrectly.

Results Using EmpCenter: The Phoenix Companies significantly reduced costs and increased employee productivity by using EmpCenter. Because the system a significant amount of processing time, it only required one person to do this job, allowing others to help make improvements to other parts of the business. Now, managers are responsible for collecting and approving their employees’ time electronically, and employees and managers receive email alerts when timesheets are late.

EmpCenter® Fatigue Management

Many industries have current or planned regulations to help mitigate the risks of fatigued labor resources. EmpCenter Fatigue Management helps organizations reduce risks associated with employees who are too fatigued to perform their roles safely. Whether the employee is an airline pilot, truck driver, train or fleet operator, or a worker at a nuclear power plant, the Fatigue Management solution ensures workers are only on the clock if all the rules governing their hours are not violated.

Organizations may also have internal fatigue management policies that help reduce exposure to lawsuits. These rules can be complex and intertwined with each other – Fatigue Management automates the process and enforces every rule, every time. Turbo charge your workforce management efforts with the Fatigue Management and get started on managing tough problems today.

White Paper Highlight

Fatigue Management – NRC Compliance

It is the employers’ responsibility to properly track and manage these employees to ensure they do not become overly fatigued, while ensuring the organization adheres to United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Regulation 10 CFR 26. This regulation entails a complex set of rules defining limits for work hours, scheduling, break constraints, periodic employee assessments, and other regulations to be discussed in this paper.
