EmpCenter® Phone Time Entry

Due to today’s highly-competitive and cost-conscious business environment, many organizations are implementing multi-channel, automated time and labor data collection strategies. By doing so, they’re able to reduce costs, increase efficiency and gain greater flexibility within their workforce management environment.
One of the most flexible, versatile and scalable data collection resources available is the EmpCenter Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system which enables data collection using any touch tone phone, including any cell phone. Ideally suited for organizations where employees are mobile or field-based or where phones are prevalent through the facility such as hospitals, the EmpCenter IVR server can handle up hundreds or thousands of concurrent employee phone calls. In addition to its ability to accommodate a large number of users, it also fully supports absence recording and other advanced features, including:
- Multilanguage
- Text-to-speech
- Biometrics using voice print authentication
- Caller-ID authentication
The call scripts and prompts can be customized for your environment and can capture project/department information as well as be made available in multiple languages.
EmpCenter IVR is also fault-resilient, storing time and labor data within the system via a redundant architecture and seamlessly transferring the information to EmpCenter Time & Attendance. This ensures you’ll never have a gap in information, critical when analyzing data and producing reports. Furthermore, EmpCenter IVR is also available via two different deployment models:
- On-premises—server is located at your organization’s data center
- Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)—in this environment, the equipment is hosted on your behalf at a central office and employees can access it via a toll-free or toll number.
Benefits:
- Low deployment costs—existing telephones and cell phones act as data collection terminals. As a result, IVR typically offers a much lower-cost solution compared to installing traditional badge readers throughout a campus or similar location.
- Reduced administrative costs—IVR systems are ‘badge-less’ devices, freeing administrators from the burden of issuing and tracking badges, as well as delivering diverse functionality without deploying costly solutions such as PDAs.
- No incremental maintenance costs—your IT department likely spends the majority of its time maintaining existing infrastructure. Because IVR leverages your existing telecommunications infrastructure, it eliminates the incremental maintenance, repair and replacement costs typical of other data collection devices.
- Rapid adoption—IVR solutions require no training, as users simply need to follow the prompts provided by the system.
