Poudre School District Selects WorkForce Software’s EmpCenter™ for K-12 School Districts

EmpCenter™ for K-12 School Districts will Automate Workforce Management Processes for the District

Livonia, Mich., April 15, 2008 - WorkForce Software, Inc., a leader in workforce management solutions, announces that Poudre School District, in Fort Collins, Colorado, licensed its EmpCenter for K-12 School Districts suite, including Time and Attendance, Employee Self-Service, Activity Based Costing, and Multiple Assignments, to automate the district’s workforce management processes.

“We chose EmpCenter because WorkForce understands the problems faced by K-12 school districts. We didn’t want a workaround, we wanted a solution.” said Lou Nagy, Business Services Systems Analyst at Poudre School District. “School districts have complex rules and processes around how they pay their employees. For example, it is common for school districts to have employees who work multiple jobs, each with its own set of pay codes, rules, and supervisor. Unlike competing products, EmpCenter for K-12 School Districts has functionality specifically designed to support multiple job assignments.”

EmpCenter Multiple Assignments creates and processes a separate timesheet for each position held by a single employee. This means that business rules, pay rates, and even approvals by separate managers can be managed independently and then rolled up into one employee paycheck. The result is compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other state and federal requirements.

“Once the system is in use, we will see a lot of benefits,” said Nagy. “The Employee Self-Service module will literally save our payroll department hours of data entry, from entering employee time to paid time off, since this is manual now. The system will also track and maintain accrual time for employees, ensure accuracy of time recording, and streamline the entire payroll process. We also expect to see an increase in employee satisfaction, because employees will have access to their information quickly.”

EmpCenter for K-12 School Districts is a comprehensive workforce management system that automates the complex policies that determine how employees accrue time on the job. Once deployed, EmpCenter for K-12 School Districts automatically enforces district pay policies and rules, alerts supervisors when overtime thresholds are met or problems occur, and helps administrators manage teacher absences. Teachers and other employees can also interact directly with the system to off-load tasks from HR, such as reviewing time-off, requesting absences, and substitute teacher availability. EmpCenter for K-12 School Districts helps administrators and their payroll and HR department to automate their workforce management.
