UTC Power to Automate Processes and Cut Costs with WorkForce Software’s Solution

UTC Power to Automate Workforce Management Processes

Livonia, Mich., April 11, 2007 - WorkForce Software, Inc., a leader in workforce management solutions, announced today UTC Power has contracted for its web-based EmpCenter software suite and services. UTC Power licensed EmpCenter’s Time and Attendance, Accruals and Absence Manager, Activity Based Costing, Attendance Point Tracking & Alert Manager, FMLA Manager, and Employee Self-Service to improve processes enterprise wide.

UTC Power, headquartered in South Windsor, Conn., is a United Technologies Corporation company. “As part of UTC, we are focused on improving processes and taking out cost using our Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) quality program,” said Chief Information Officer Bruce LaBrecque, UTC Power. “These new WorkForce Software tools will help increase back office efficiencies by automating timekeeping processes that we currently do manually. This will help eliminate errors in reporting and will streamline our overall timekeeping process.”

After completing a comprehensive vendor evaluation process, UTC Power chose WorkForce Software’s EmpCenter due to its software functionality, ease of use, and positive customer references regarding the software and service. The EmpCenter solution is configurable, allowing employers to create the rules, workflows, and processes that best fit their needs.

“We look forward to implementing WorkForce Software’s EmpCenter solution,” said LaBrecque. “We will use PC kiosks with a tethered scanner for employees to swipe their badges. We have a lot of engineers who need to track time spent on a project, and the EmpCenter Activity Based Costing module will automate this and other workforce management procedures.”

“By automating the collection of labor information and exporting calculated information to the ADP payroll system, UTC Power will eliminate errors and manual steps,” said CEO Kevin Choksi, WorkForce Software. “EmpCenter is perfectly suited to provide UTC Power a significant cost savings since it easily supports the automation of policies for bargaining units, overtime equalization, and complex shift, accrual, and point tracking rules. EmpCenter will also provide UTC’s managers real-time information on their workforce, productivity, labor costs, and leave liability that affect the bottom line. We look forward to implementing EmpCenter for UTC Power.”
