Job Opening for Senior Report Specialist

The Senior Report Specialist position is a new position located at our headquarters in Livonia, MI. This new hands-on position was created to manage and implement new reporting and querying capabilities in our enterprise EmpCenter suite of applications. As a Senior Reporting Specialist you will define report content, implement and create reports, design ad-hoc query methodologies, tune the queries in large reports for optimal performance under multiple DBMS systems, and train customers on the use of our database and reporting tools.

Mandatory Skills:
* Strong skills in SQL involving complex queries with multiple join conditions

* Senior level expertise in tuning queries on large databases for optimal performance

* Expertise creating database views

* Strong report writing skills using any commercial reporting tool such as Business Objects or Cognos

* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work well with all types of clients
* Familiarity with business software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
* Must work well as a team member and individually
* Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks

Desired Skills:

* Experience with Crystal Reports, Business Objects, or Business Objects Web Intelligence

* Experience creating universe definitions with Business Objects or Cognos
* Background in HR, Payroll, or Time & Attendance helpful

* Expertise in both Oracle and SQL Server databases
* Programming experience utilizing any 4GL language
* Experience implementing or working with packaged ERP software systems such as PeopleSoft, Lawson, Oracle, or SAP.

The Senior Reporting Specialist position will require occasional travel about 10-20% of the time to customer sites nationwide to train and assist them in our reporting technologies.
