Job Opening for Development Manager
This position reports directly to the CEO.
Job Functions:
- Managing the software development, QA, and/or documentation
teams building both front end and back ends of a very large,
enterprise-class commercial software system
- Setting development timelines and product release dates
- Delivering high quality software releases on-time
- Hiring additional programmers and other team members
Mandatory Skills:
- Several years of hands-on experience in developing large-scale
software applications, preferably in Java
- Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role designing and architecting
systems
- Experience in development and managing software teams of commercial
off-the-shelf software
- Experience in building automated regression test suites
- Familiar with DBMS systems and SQL.
- Knowledge of application servers such as WebSphere, servlets,
Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), JSP, and HTML/DHTML.
- Strong fundamentals of computer science, including knowledge
of advanced data structures, algorithms, and multi-threading.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Four-year or advanced degree in a technical field
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Tomcat application server
- Background with C++ programming
- Experience developing lexers, parsers and compilers
- Knowledge of Struts and/or Velocity Apache projects
- Experience in both Windows and Unix environments deploying
Java based systems
- Experience in designing for and testing under large data volumes
and stress conditions, including the use of stress testing tools.
