Job Opening for Development Manager

This position reports directly to the CEO.

Job Functions:

  • Managing the software development, QA, and/or documentation teams building both front end and back ends of a very large, enterprise-class commercial software system
  • Setting development timelines and product release dates
  • Delivering high quality software releases on-time
  • Hiring additional programmers and other team members

Mandatory Skills:

  • Several years of hands-on experience in developing large-scale software applications, preferably in Java
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role designing and architecting systems
  • Experience in development and managing software teams of commercial off-the-shelf software
  • Experience in building automated regression test suites
  • Familiar with DBMS systems and SQL.
  • Knowledge of application servers such as WebSphere, servlets, Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), JSP, and HTML/DHTML.
  • Strong fundamentals of computer science, including knowledge of advanced data structures, algorithms, and multi-threading.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Four-year or advanced degree in a technical field

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Tomcat application server
  • Background with C++ programming
  • Experience developing lexers, parsers and compilers
  • Knowledge of Struts and/or Velocity Apache projects
  • Experience in both Windows and Unix environments deploying Java based systems
  • Experience in designing for and testing under large data volumes and stress conditions, including the use of stress testing tools.
