Job Opening for Technical Writer

Workforce Software is actively recruiting for a Technical Writer. This position is located at our headquarters in Livonia, MI.

Workforce Software develops and implements web-based, enterprise application software for employee time and attendance. Our customers are large organizations who need to manage their workforce with an enterprise class web-based time and attendance system. Our solution is gaining widespread acceptance as the industry-leading solution for organizations wishing to automate their time and labor processes. Our system has the right functionality and technology and we continue to make large investments in new functionality to maintain our market leading position.

Job Functions:

*Develop and maintain an understanding of WorkForce Software configuration basics

* Gather technical information from Developers and QA Analysts

*Accurately document technical information, adding new materials or updating existing documentation such as:

*Software configuration manuals

*End user manuals

*Installation guides

*Technical reference guides

*Ensure quality of all released documentation, applying WorkForce Software documentation writing style guide standards and templates.

Mandatory Skills:

*Minimum five years experience writing technical reference and end user documentation

*Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word skills

*Adobe Acrobat skills

*Experience interviewing developers, testers, and users to produce accurate and clear documentation

*Ability to quickly understand technical subject matter

*Ability to work well independently and with others

* Excellent written and oral communication

Desired Skills:

*Help authoring software experience

*Source Control software experience

*SQL

*HTML

*Experience working with an embedded reporting tool

*Experience developing graphics and publications

*Experience in programming or website development is helpful, but not required.
